Hello out there

Hmm, my picture didn't upload. Anyway, it's been a while. I haven't had anything to say. No rants, no witty repartee, no complaints, no words of wisdom, no deep thoughts....actually, no thoughts at all. Just doing the same thing every day. I have more housework to do now, which is good! I like keeping the place tidy, because it's not so overcrowded now. Hey, I moved the little box with the 'x' in it, and now I can see the picture.
Well, the new bedroom has been defiled. It has been usurped by a furry yellow usurper who thinks it's his bedroom. There is cat hair on the new comforter and the new shams. And today, just to make sure he didn't miss anywhere, he was laying on the mat! Next I'll find him rolling around on the drapes after he's pulled them down!!! He won't even sleep with me anymore..sob sob sob!
I've tried closing the door..but it won't shut tight..and he can push it open!
I think I'm in a sort of disgruntled mood, because Christmas is coming...and I am much too poor to think of Christmas this year. So, I've been blocking my mind to everything....just not thinking at all in case Christmas inadvertently slips into my mind.
We had some beautiful weather for a while there, but it's getting colder now. No snow yet! Woohoo! Well, I am going to go read some blogs.....see what's going on in the outside world.
Talk to you all later....adios for now.

Things

Here is a picture of the purple bedroom! Well, I wish a had a picture of it now!..You guys would not believe how dirty this room was!!!! I didn't realize myself until it was broad daylight and quite sunny. Those walls were covered in a black yucky substance. And since this was to be our guest room...we had to wash the walls.
So, I started washing the walls, and all that happened was that I was spreading the black s..t around.
So, we decided it would be easier to paint.
Young Jimmy had three cans of different shades of off-white, all half-used.
So, we mixed them all together and came up with a nice new colour. Jim painted..it only took two coats..and it's lovely!
Now, after the painting..I had to take care of the floor. The floor up there is linoleum (sp)...white..with little grooves. The little grooves were all black! I scrubbed the whole floor on my hands and knees. It's not in very good shape..cut, and scraped, but at least now it's clean.
So..we got a double bed. And then we bought bedding, curtains, a mat, and a lamp shade..all in burgundy...Then Jim painted a stand we had in Burgundy for a bedside table....and the room is beautiful. I love it. It's just like Trading Spaces.
The whole room looks lovely.
Now, I can't wait to get at the other two.
But, it cost a lot of mon-mons.
Bedding is not cheap folks.
BTW..Wal-Mart is a rip-off. Do not believe the price signs you see on things. Turns out, 'people' move things around....and what you thought was only $35, turns out to be $49.
And what you thought was $9.00 turns out to be $17.00.
And do you know when you buy pillow shams..there's only ONE in a package?
Who uses ONE pillow sham? Rip-off!
So you have to go out and pay another $17.00 for a pillow sham?
Because the room looks so nice!
Sheeeeeeesssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Anyhoo..the room is nice.
I hated the upstairs of this house.
But now that I see the new room...I can't wait to do the others.
May take a year or so before we gather up the money.
And did you know that when you buy curtains...the pictures shows two panels, but there is only ONE in the package!!!!!
Today was a learning experience for me.
When I get to doing the other rooms, I'm using E-Bay...way cheaper, even with the exchange.
I just didn't have time.....
Anyway..that is my rant and my happiness, all in one.
A happy rant!
Tata for now....Marsh

Dancing with the Stars

I don't usually watch this show, however, the other night there was nothing else on, and so I watched it....Has anyone seen the show? If so, has anyone out there seen this guy's butt?????? Wow!!!!! I was mesmerized. I don't even like this guys acting....but his dancing...I almost fainted..and I was in bed!!!! He's hot hot hot! The show I saw he was dancing the waltz..it was beautiful...the next dance was a Latin dance and I got goosebumps.....
In all my 61 years, this is the first time I have ever noticed a man's butt! Really! I can't get over it. I've heard other women talking about butts, but they never really appealed to me..until I saw this man dancing!!!!!!!!
Oh my Heart!!! I'm too old for this..hehehehehehe.
On a different note..for some odd reason I went out yesterday. Jim said let's go to the used furniture store later. I immediately said no, cause I don't like to go out. But then I changed my mind because I felt bad for JIm..he has to go everywhere by himself. So I got ready and out we went....and lo and behold...we found the most perfect dining room chairs for the table that you could possibly find! Someone led us there..don't know who.
Let me explain...the table is old...and worn but much loved by the whole Fitt family. No-one knows where the chairs went. And we found old chairs, in perfect condition....perfect, being slightly worn, but really well built...same colour as the table...pretty much the same condition as the table....it was like a miracle. And they were only $200.00. It's like a miracle.
Modern chairs would not have gone with that table. They look like they belong there....and whatever possessed me to change my mind and go out...well, I just don't know. But there they were, and they caught my eye, and now I have them.
Maybe it was Connie (Jim's mother). All the kids and grandkids remember playing cards, and having Christmas dinners on that table. And now it's complete again.. I really wish I had a Digital Camera so you guys could see them. Sorry for babbling on and on about this, but I am amazed!
Anyhoo, must go now. The reason I'm up so late is because I didn't feel well today, so I slept most of the day and now I'm not tired! So I guess I'll check up on the blogs and then go to bed.
Nitey nite all.....Marsh

What a Beautiful Day

It's sunny, sunny, sunny and warm, warm, warm!!! I love it..the furnace hasn't come on all day....hehehehe. I'm freaking out a little about oil consumption!!! However, I freak out just about everything...so no big deal! I got a lot of work done today, and that makes me feel good. Washed floors, got some curtains up, tidied up....etc etc etc.
Finally got a shower!!!!! Let me explain...our tub and shower are under a slanted wall (for anyone whoever visited us in Westville, they will know what I mean). So, an ordinary shower rod and curtain wouldn't fit. But, Jim, although not God, is a genius when it comes to rigging things up. So he drilled some holes with his trusty drill, put up a shower rod, made a few adjustments here and there, et voila...shower curtain up.
Now, let me reassure you, that just because we couldn't shower didn't mean we didn't wash!!!!! But a full shower sure feels better than a 'sponge bath'.
I like to try to accomplish something every day...even if it's just something small.
Still looking for a bed for the guest room! And, I noticed today with the sun streaming in that the walls are extremely dirty. Can't see myself washing them..so I think we are going to paint. God knows when. So many things I want to do, but have to wait for the money! Each payday, we will do something else.
I really like it here. I haven't been feeling as sick....it feels like a real home...I am more interested in keeping it tidy.
Anyhoo....that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Talk to you all later...adios

I'm Sorry I'm Sorry I'm Sorry

......that I haven't been blogging in quite a while. Here is a pretty bouquet of roses for you all. I have several excuses which I will now impart to you. Please feel free to choose the one you like best. But first, let me explain that I am a tad bi-polar in some ways. So okay, here goes. I've either been very very very busy to the extent of exhaustion, or I've been very very very lazy to the extent of laying around all day. There were two days, where I could hardly get out of bed for the backache due to one of my manic housecleaning days. Also, I spent a lot of time playing games just for relaxation....and one day it (just one mind you) it didn't rain and I spent all day doing laundry. But, then last night, I started to feel guilty. And so, here I am - blogging again and anxious to read all you guyses blogs.
Yesterday I finally got curtains for the kitchen windows, a tablecloth for the dining room table, and a whole bunch of groceries. So, we are getting there, slowly but surely.
I heard on the news that effective Jan 1st, any child under nine and under 4'9" has to sit in a booster seat!!!!! Gads, what if you have a short 12 year old. Young James (Jim's grandson) is already freaking out..."I'm not sitting in a booster seat!" He's 7 years old. Who comes up with this stuff anyway?
Well, now I must go blog read whilst drinking my tea. Promise to blog more often, I was just trying to get comfortably settled in (another excuse to choose from)..hehehehe.
Love to you all...Marsha
