New Bathroom

Here's a pic of the new bathroom....once again, Mikki, it's pink!!! hehehehe. However it will be bigger than any bathroom I've had in years. I think it's kind of pretty. Only problem is, there is a nice plant in it. Now, I have a problem with plants. They all seem to die on me...why, I can't possible imagine! Could be they need tender loving care, or they like to be talked to, or they like music...or....they like water! Hard to say!
Anyway, still at it today...just packed the last box I have. So..now what????? I guess I'll take my curtains down and wash them.
Good thing I got tons of laundry done yesterday...blankets etc. Because right now we are having a minor tropical storm. Very windy, and pouring rain..but quite warm. I hope it stays warm all winter, because starting next month, we will be paying for our own fuel. Yikes!!!!!! Gonna be a cold winter..hehehehe.
Well, tonight my husband is visiting with my son Paul. Yes....he is at Paul's house, and I am not! Not fair!!!!!! I think Mikki can envision how the evening will go...no need to say more. Hehehehe....let's just say that Beer may be involved! Hope JIm survives, cause he has a wedding to go to tomorrow. I expect to hear from them later when they are sufficiently prepared to talk on the phone! If you get my drift!
Anyhoo...gonna read blogs now..and Coro Street just about to come on! Sheesh...Mike has totally lost his mind!!!
Toodle-ooh.....

Living Room

Here are pictures of my new living room. Oddly enough, they have the same couch and chair that I have, except mine has pink and blue stripes rather than flowers (or whatever that design is). Well, I fought the cold and I won! By resting a lot, it didn't develop any further and I am back at it today.

Did tons of laundry more cleaning and more packing. However I am running out of boxes now. Anyhoo, Jim has gone to Ont. for a family wedding (I begged off...couldn't stand that long drive.). So he left yesterday, and last night I went to bed all safe and secure in my little house..with the doors firmly locked..and believe me they are very thick doors with deadbolts etc. Nobody could get in here without a bulldozer! So, this morning, I decide to take some old books up to the common room for the other old geezers to peruse....go out the front door (usually I use the back)...and guess what? When I get back...to the front door...there are the house keys and the car keys still in the lock outside!!!!!!! Open invitation...Come in...take my stuff...take the car too....and the truck, and everything in our storage locker...go for it!!!!! Sheesh!!!!! So, tonight I am firmly locked in!!!! Hehehehe.

Well, must go check the blogs.....Arrivederci (sp)....A Demain!

I'm Back

Hi all, I've been busy for a while. And when not busy, I've been sleeping. And now I have a cold in the head. Have to take it easy and make sure it doesn't get into my chest, or I will be in trouble! Here is a picture of what will be my new dining room. The table stays with the house because it used to belong to Jim's mother. I'm really looking forward to moving. This cold has sort of put a damper on my enthusiasm for packing though. But, I'm getting there. Other than that I have no other news. I'm going to eat lunch and lay down for a while now, after trying to caught up on the Blogs.
Talk to you'all later....Bye bye.

Packing and cleaning

Here is a very blurry picture of some of the boxes I have been packing. Doesn't look like much, but....do not forget.....every single solitary thing in those boxes has been cleaned....cleaned I tell you! My fingers are all crinkly, and I smell like vinegar - well not really, I had a shower. But, before the shower I smelled like vinegar! Now, I have another packing tip for you. The first being, wrapping your glassware in sheets and pillowcases, thus killing two birds with one stone, and avoiding the mess of all that newspaper when you unpack. Okay....now that I've 'refreshed your memory' as they say on Court TV...here's another tip.
If you have delicate little pretty thingies....such as my angels with wire wings, which I love by the way....Take a large plastic container (doesn't need to be Tupperware)...wrap your delicates thingies (after washing them of course) in soft paper towel, place them gently in the container...keep doing this until the container is full...allow no movement at all to occur, so fill in blank spaces with soft paper towel..or face cloths...and place lid on container. Then pack container. Once again...two birds - one stone! As a matter of fact, you can pack all kinds of stuff in your larger plastic containers...why pack them empty...they take up too much room! I leave no space in my boxes...every nook and cranny is filled with something, even if it's just a face cloth...or a bunch of pencils....or knitting needles. Unpacking is lots of fun for me....I never know what I'm going to find. The box may say 'Bedroom'...but...is is reaaaalllllyyyy? Could there be a surprise in there?
Anyhoo, yesterday I didn't do anything...I woke up too stiff and sore from the day before...All that getting up and down, taking down pictures, pulling out nails, unscrewing screws...My back was killing me. But, back at it today.
Well, I'm starving...must go get my supper..Leftover spaghetti! Yum
Bye bye......

Trying Again -Arghhhh!

Woohoo...my pictures uploaded. Now the oil stove in the kitchen is real...It's the only stove Connie ever used....ooops..I gave away the secret!! The house is Jim's Mother's house.....the house in which he grew up. He built all the cupboards in it. We will probably just use the oil stove as decoration..I think it lends a nice touch. Please, if anyone here knows anyone in Stellarton...please do NOT tell them we are moving there until Oct 2nd. Nannan knows why, and you can ask her. Thanks!

And Now a Question for Travelling Man! Do you think it would be cheaper to heat the downstairs with the Oil Stove or the Oil Furnace? Which runs more efficiently, if you know. I know that when we used to visit Connie the house was so freaking hot you could hardly stand it! And she always had a pot of tea on that stove.

I sure hope Jim is going to be alright living there. BTW..this is my second blog...please scroll down to read my first.....hehehehe. Two in one day to make up for my delinquency.

Adios amigos...Sayonara.

Well, Well, Well - Phew!

Damn Damn Damn. I tried to upload two pictures of my new (hopefully) kitchen, and the pictures would not upload. Will try again later.
I just finished going through my file box and shredding old stuff. I shredded stuff back from 1991. Oh yes, and by the way - DAD - do you remember that black filing box you gave me about 15 years or more ago? Anyway, it just fell apart!!!! I can't imagine why! Just because it was stuffed so full you couldn't close it and Tuffy was using it for a scratching post, is no reason why it should fall apart! Anyway, I have two full recycle bags full of shredded paper. Then I sorted all the papers and put them in file folders and packed them away. I have washed every single ornament in the house....and every single glass that was on display (boy were they grungy)..and packed them amongst sheets and pillow cases - two birds with one stone!!!!
I took the pictures off the wall and cleaned them all with vinegar - much better than Windex - and packed them all away. I still have the bedroom to do. Next I'm going to work on the computer desk..go through all my discs and see if they're used or not....everything is all mixed up. Dang I wish I could have uploaded those pictures.
I found some interesting things. I found a lock of Eric's hair from his first hair cut! I love it. It was so blond and curly. I must show Mikki next time we're together. I also found the Thank You cards that I wrote personal notes on for Dad, Jimmy, Susan and Mom for my 60th Birthday Party. Will bring them next time I'm down - only a year and a half late!!!!! Hehehehe. I found income tax returns from 1990....don't think I need to keep them. Found angry letters I had written to the Bank of Montreal when they tried to gyp me on my pension. Found begging letters to the N.S. Housing Authority when trying to get a Senior's Appt. I write good letters when I have to.
Now, I'm really tired, but also energized in a way. I want to pack some more. If this deal falls through....I will kill myself (not really - maybe I'll just maim myself). One thing for sure...I'm not unpacking it. It's all washed and clean...and it's staying in the boxes!!
And now for the kicker...Jim just walked in the house and told me the car broke down on the Trans Canada Highway!!!!!!! He got it to Young Jimmy's house, and for now he's driving Jimmy's car. Freak! Freak! Freak! He had been working all week with Dave to get some extra money for his trip to Ont...and now he will have to spend it on the freaking car!!!!!!!!!
Give me strength!!!!!!
Now, here comes the begging. If anybody has any extra old unused, unwanted bedroom furniture, coffee table, living room chair......I know a place for it. Just thought I'd mention it.
Hehehehehehehe. I'm sure Mikki doesn't really need that black reclining leather chair in her living room. It doesn't match the rest of her furniture.....
Okay...gotta go....gonna try and upload the pictures again.
Love, mes amigos.

Sorry, sorry, sorry

Hello, Blogger World. Sorry I haven't been here since I announced my big secret...but this is what I've been feeling like for the past three days. Sick, sick, sick! Still feel a little shaky, so this will be short.
I've decided to unveil my secret...well parts of it anyway. Yes, hopefully, we are moving. But won't know for sure until Oct 2nd.
Long story short, Jim's son bought a house for us to live in, and also as an investment for his company. He put a high down pay't on it, and the mortgage is very low...will cut our rent in half. And even though we will have to pay heat and lights, we checked the numbers and will still be better off. It's an older house, but all re-done inside with three bedrooms and 1 and 1/2 bath. The house is in Stellarton...but I won't feel comfortable until the deal is actually closed. Nannan knows why, I e-mailed her. So keep your fingers crossed everybody!
Sorry, guys, but I've got to go....my stomach is doing flipflops and I feel very weak!!!!! Love to you all.....

Tv News and Stuff

This is just about the saddest story I've heard in a long time. Just three days after giving birth to a girl, Anna Nicole loses her beloved 20 year old son Daniel. How could a person possibly bear this? Imagine the combination of joy and anguish. I cannot even conceive what she must be going through. My heart goes out to her. The death of her son, right there in her hospital room has to have diminished the joy she should be feeling now for her little girl. I don't know how I would cope.

In other news...Boogie won Big Brother..Good for him! But I'm disappointed that the American people didn't vote to give the $25,000 jury prize to Chicken George. What is wrong with those people? Obviously, they don't know what voting means or how it works (e.g. their President!!!!!).

Update on itchy bite. First of all, I was not, to my knowledge, bathing with a spider!!!!! I'm just not that type of person. Secondly....an unguent is a healing salve! Well, interestingly enough (to me) a little white thingie has appeared dead centre of the bite. The itch didn't bother me much all day, but when I went to bed, I thought I would go crazy. I've discovered an interesting thing through this experiment. If you're itchy somewhere....it helps a little bit to scratch somewhere else....like your head or something! If you scratch your head till it bleeds and hurts....you sort of forget the itch...hehehehehehehe. It is itching now, tempting me, but I will not succumb.

Now...I have a secret. I would tell you what it is, but I can't, cause it's a secret, for now! I will slowly reveal bits and pieces of it over the next few days....but I can't tell the whole thing until Oct 2. And no, I'm not pregnant!!!!!! Hehehehe. It's a good secret. Okay...I've said enough for now. No guessing please....I have a reason for being secretive. More tomorrow.....tata guys.

Scientific Experiment

This is a picture of a welt that suddenly appeared on my arm after taking a nice relaxing bath yesterday. Jim says it looks like a bite - but by what or whom? It is very, very itchy!!!!!!
But I am going to try an experiment. I want to see what happens to it if I DON'T scratch it. I know what will happen if I do scratch it. I will eventually break the skin and bleed all over everything. Then when the healing scab appears, I will rip that off in a frenzy and bleed all everything, and then when the healing scab appears, I will rip that off and bleed all over everything ad infinitum. So I am quite interested to see what happens when no scratching happens.
I will be doing this experiment without the help of any medications, lotions, salves, unguents (love that word), or help of any sort. Cold turkey so to speak! Or maybe, I should say Cold Spider, if it is indeed a spider bite.
Now, you have to realize what will power that is going to take. Because it is really, really, really, really itchy. I may have to jump around the room and grit my teeth in excrutiating pain (yes, itches are painful to me!). I may have to wear mittens or have Jim tie my hands behind my back.....but under no circumstances will I scratch!!!!! Maybe a minor little rub every now and then...but no Fingernails!
I will keep you posted on the results.
Ciao mes amigos.

Can(Not)Jet

On Sept 10, 2006 Canjet will no longer be available for me to fly to Nfld at a fairly cheap rate! That means, that I may no longer be able to go to Nfld. (Not that I paid for it...Mikki always paid for me to come over). But I already owe her so much money, that no way can I ask to fly via Air Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sheesh. This may be partly the cause of my temporary depression!
How could Canjet do this to ME? I feel it is a personal attack! They know how much I like their planes..and their pilots are really good!!!! Even though they took away my nail file one time...I forgave them for that a long time ago. I must write a song about this.
Oh Canjet...Oh Canjet!
You were my best bet,
Now I'm left behind
How unkind, how unkind!!

You've gone charter
Now I'm a martyr.
But, even though I'm teary
I have a query?

Who the Hell is going to charter a 737? With all those seats?
And why are you forcing your employees to sign a voluntary resignation, and if they don't, they won't get a package? I think that is against the law!!!!!!!
And what about all those good pilots? And snotty air attendants? What's going to happen to them?

(That's the chorus)

I will miss you
I need a tiss-yoo (that's tissue in Mikkispeak)
The tears are flowing
My nails are growing.

I guess I'll wait a while
For my nail file.
But let me tell you
A little secret
That will break your hearts
One time I had darts! (In my purse)

(Chorus)

It ends with the chorus. If you are all wondering why I am up so late, please refer to my previous blog. I have been sleeping all the time. Now I can't sleep. Go figure!
Anyhoo...ciao, sayonara, adios, nitey nite.

Nothing to Say

Hi people. Sorry...but there's nothing to blog about. Having been feeling very well lately...so I thought I just drop in to let you know I am still alive, but feelin' very down, down, down. No particular reason...just one of those times. I've been sleeping a lot, and I'm sure it will pass soon.
Talk to you all later....

Boo Hoo Hoo - Sob Sob Sob

Came the dawn dawn dawn
Will was gone gone gone
Boogie cried cried cried
Oh how they lied lied lied!

Now the girls have to get really smart. Whoever wins HOH will have to take Boogie to the end! Because, no one in the Jury House will vote for Boogie. Hmmmm, I wonder if they are smart enough to figure that out!

Janelle has lots of friends and so does Erica...it will be risky for them to be the final two. Et voila...the plot thickens! Did you see the look on Boogie's face? Priceless!
Ok...enough of that I guess. It's obvious I don't have much to talk about....what will I do when Big Brother is over!
Has anybody found a song about the love of a Grandmother for her Grandchildren? Has anybody looked? Ah Ha...I knew it! No one was looking. And I want Nannan to e-mail me with explicit instructions as to how to put music on my blog. Very explicit! Hehehehe. I seem to have lost some brain cells over the years. Speaking of songs, I downloaded some yesterday. I found out who Roger Hodgson was (remember my celebrity). He's a Canadian sort of Rock singer. He has a really nice voice and I downloaded a couple of his ballads. His name was on Funnyface's list too. Not bad looking either.
Some people are saying crazy things about 'the Crocodile Hunter'. Such as,
well, if you live like that and take chances like that, something's bound to happen'. Well that's just stupid. He was killed by a Stingray - which usually isn't fatal. If it had struck him anywhere else but in the heart he wouldn't have died.
Now they're talking about airing the video of him getting killed on TV. Gads....what is wrong with this world?????? What about his family? Have they no respect? I hope his family can get an injunction against it.
But after all that rant, I am so ashamed to say, I would probably watch it. And hate myself afterwards! Please don't hate me fellow bloggers...I'm only human, and I have to be honest.
Well....on that horrible note..I will leave you now, and check in on the blogs.
Farewell and good-bye.

Snakes In The Mall!!!!!

Ewwwwwwwww...There were snakes in the mall yesterday. And alligators and lizards and toxic frogs! Of course, being somewhat of a sadist..we had to go see them! Quite interesting! I didn't mind the lizards, and the alligator was just a little baby, and the frogs will only kill you if you eat them, which I have no intention of doing!..But the snakes were huge!!!!! There was an Albino Bull Snake which is just pure ugly (shiver). Some other snakes I can't remember the names of, and oh, yes..a 65 pound, 27 year old Turtle. He will grow to be around 200 pounds and will live about 200 years they said. How would you like to live 200 years? 200 years of doing nothing but eating!!! Hmmmm...doesn't sound all that bad.
We are having such an exciting weekend! You just wouldn't believe it. All we've done is watch movies.....(and see reptiles). We discovered what goes good with Juicy Jumbos! White Wine! White Wine and Juicy Jumbos....a Gourmet delight. Jimmy will be off shortly to see CCR! It's gonna be a long day for him...I hope he gets good pictures to post on his blog when he gets home. Luckily the weather is holding up for him. Not too hot, not too cold, and not raining.
Well...not too much else to say....adios amigos.
