I'm Back

Hi all. I tried to upload a picture, but no luck. Anyway...as you probably know, I haven't blogged all weekend. My back was so bad that I couldn't even stand up straight. I don't know what happened...I certainly didn't do anything strenuous enough to hurt my back! But it was like a pinched nerve....I couldn't straighten out at all. Plus Saturday was so freaking hot you couldn't breathe. I had a miserable weekend! Yesterday was a little cooler with a nice breeze, Thank God. We went out for an hour or so, but it was hard walking! It was Jim's Daughter-In-Law's Mother's 80th birthday party. I don't know her all that well, but it was good to see Jim and Charlotte and Amanda and James. My Gosh, they grow up so fast!
Other than that, I really have nothing to say. Oh yeah....Tuffy threw up in my bedroom this morning, and I haven't got the courage to clean it up yet....need more tea first! Just thought you all would want to know that!!! It's quite gross....don't know what he ate! hehehehehehehe..
It's cooler here again today..the very last day of July. Man, July just whizzed by without me even noticing!!! Of course I did spend two weeks of it in Nfld, just looking at my new baby! Well, only a few more days and Nanan will be back.....hurry up....we need you!
Oh yes...my back is much better today....I can walk, and stand up...just get a little twinge every now and then! Later people!

Nothing Changes

The group shown here is known as the Kingston Trio...one of my very favorite groups. I want to sing a little song here by them....it goes thusly:

They're rioting in Africa
There's strife in Iran
There's hurricanes in Florida
And Texas needs rain

The whole world is festering
With unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans
The Germans hate the Poles
Norwegians hate Yugoslavs
South Africans hate the Dutch
And I don't like anybody very much!

But we can be thankful
And tranquil and proud
For man's been endowed with the Mushroom Shaped Cloud!
And we can be certain that some lucky day
Someone will set the spark off
And we will all be blown away!

This humorous little ditty has been around since I was a teenager, so it must be at least 40 to 50 years old! And as you can see, the names may change, but the world stays pretty much the same.
Well, that's my thought for the day. Please don't try to imagine me singing this little song - you may cause damage to your ears!
Have a good one!

Test

Ah Ha! Finally I got the picture uploaded. Now I know you guys were all dying to see the picture of last years 'broken car', and far be it from me to deprive you. I just didn't want you all to spend the rest of your life wondering what it looked like!
Anyhoo, I am so glad you are all still checking blogs and blogging while Nannan is gone. She is the one who keeps us all going after all. Too bad we couldn't all chip in and get her a laptop for times like this. Not a suggestion...(gads)..just a thought!
So there is nothing wrong with my computer..and I can still upload pictures...woohoo!
That's all I wanted to know! hehehehe.

It Just Occurred To Me!

Well, I tried to upload a picture but it wouldn't work. So I have to blog without one. The picture was of our car after arriving back from Nfld Last Year! So, it just occurred to me. These things all happened when going to Nfld. This year our front tire got ruined by being hit with a flying suitcase. Last year the struts on our car broke! The year before that our Van broke down before we even got to Antigonish - had to get towed back, and fly over later. The year before that, the transmission in our truck blew up while Jim was only half away across Nfld. Had to leave it in Nfld, and poor Max had to look after getting it back to us - cost a freaking fortune! Now, do you suppose somebody is trying to tell me something??? Or do all our vehicles just suck!!!! Not that we still have some of those vehicles...hehehe. But, the car is now on the road, again - two new front tires!
Our first sunny day since we got back. I think I may sit out and read for a while if I can stand the sun. I got burnt a little in St. John's, and my arms are itchy and flaky. (Myself, I'm just flaky!).
My cat will not leave me alone since I got home. He follows me everywhere and is sitting beside me on the computer desk now. If I go to the bathroom he comes with me....if he's sound asleep and I move, his eyes immediately open to see what I'm doing or where I'm going! I think he may be a little paranoid! I should try him on my Paxil and see what happens!
Well aloha all...have a very nice day!

A Blog for Todd

After posting three blogs, it occurred to me that I did not say anything much about our host. So I would like to say 'Thank You' to Todd for putting up with us for two weeks. And, by the way, dear readers, if you want the best breakfast you have ever had in your whole life, you will have to get Todd to cook it for you! Yummy Yummy! He also barbecues excellently....all kinds of food, none of it burned....all delicious. Plus he takes good care of my Mikki and all the kids. It's been a big change for him too...having a full family now after years of raising one son by himself. So Kudo's to Todd......woohoo! Oh, sorry about the picture...I know you've seen it before, and I know Nannan was getting a little mad about it...hehehehe...but it's the only one I have so far!
Today is very hot and muggy, and I have been doing loads and loads of laundry, and mopping and scrubbing my kitchen floor (with an SOS pad - on my hands and knees)! And actually it is raining now. However, I am sitting here at my computer with sweat trickling whereever sweat can trickle on a body! The salty sweat is getting in my eyes, running down my back and if I cross my legs they stick together! I don't know why I picked such a day to do the floor, but I have to do it when I'm in the mood or, guess what? It won't get done! Still have to finish up, but I'm taking a break to write this blog and then go read some more blogs.
After that, I will finish up, have a shower and play games on my computer....lots of fun, eh?
I'm gonna miss Nannan.....sob sob sob. But I guess she deserves a vacation!
Later all....love Marsha

Horrific Rant

This is how I felt when I woke up this morning - like I had slept in a toilet!!!!!
Everything was going fine on the freakin' bleep-bleep-bleeping ferry until five o'clock. I had been sitting outside reading and doing Sudoku puzzles, with a break for lunch until then. But I was getting sleepy so decided to try to take a little nap.
In the bleeping seat right behind me were four French people from Quebec! Now, don't get me wrong..I have nothing against French people, the French language or Quebec. I just have something against these particular freaking, bleeping, ding-dang, heckish French people. They freaking talked for 7 freaking hours straight as freaking loud as they could!!!!!!! Freak!!!!!! Freak is a euphimism for another 'F' word, by the way.
Then, three seats down was a darling little freaking bad six year old girl who freaking screamed for 7 freaking hours straight. Everything was 'NO NO NO NO NO' with the occasional 'I HATE YOU' thrown in between. Her father was saying 'Now Sweetie, (shudder) I love you!'. And she would scream 'NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO'- well you get that picture! Then Little Freaking Sweetie's Mother said 'You can sit there and cry all day, I don't care.' BUT I FREAKING DID! God almighty, I thought my head was going to explode!
Then, mercifully, right on time, the Ding Dong goes meaning we're getting a message..and the message was..we will be docking in one hour! Woohoo I thought...one hour..woohoo! Two freaking hours we were still sitting in the Freaking Harbor waiting for another Freaking boat to leave the Freaking Harbor. And as we are sitting there, just idling, the Freaking Fumes are making everybody Sick!!!!! By this time, we had been standing at the entrance to the Elevator for an hour and a half..and my Freaking legs were breaking! And then, Woohoo, the bells went Ding-Dong...and I thought - finally. The message came 'A pink blanket has been found in the dining room and can be picked up at the Purser's office'. Freaking, bleeping freak freak freak bleep bleep s--t! Now my problem is, that Ferry arrives at the same time every single Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and if the Freaking Harbormaster doesn't know that by now he should be Freaking Fired. Keep the Freaking Harbor traffic moving Dingbat!
FINALLY we get in our car, and get out of the Ferry into a stream of Freaking Stupid Idiot Bleeping Drivers who kept trying to kill us! Once, we were in a 'keep right except to pass' lane, and we were in the passing lane....when a freaking van PASSED us on the wrong side of the road!!!!!!! Going so fast that something blew off his Freaking roof rack and hit our car! If Jim wasn't such a good driver we would be dead now!!!!! My stomach was in knots, and I was in such pain I thought I just would not make it home at all. Several more times, and I am not kidding, Freaking cars passed us on a solid line going up a hill with nowhere to pull in if anything was approaching them! Freak! It was freaking horrible!!!!!!! We finally arrived home at three freaking thirty in the morning, only to find that our front freaking tire was not only flat, but totally ruined. Now we have to buy a new freaking tire.
Oh God, now I'm in a sweat just thinking about it again. Good news is, we are still alive. We are home, we are safe.
I have made the trip back and forth to Nfld several thousand times, even before Mikki was born and never have I gone through such Hell.
Also, on the good news side, Tuffy is back from Kitty prison and still loves me.
Well, that was my rant...sorry for all the 'F' words! Well, not really!!!!
Now, I have to keep trying to catch up on previous blogs. Have a good one all.

Gushy Mushy Blog

As promised, here is Blog One..I decided to go with Gushy Mushy first, because if I rant first, then I won't be in a 'gushy mushy' mood! Now...as mentioned before, get on your computers all, and just keep sending mikki one word messages 'pictures', until we get some.
Now, I wonder how it is, that you can love a whole bunch of people so much, that your heart almost bursts at the very sight of them - and then another little person comes along and lo and behold, there's still room for more! That baby took my heart from the first moment I saw her beautiful face in person. Now I've always felt this way about all my children and grandchildren, but this just re-inforced that feeling of love that is boundless, infinite, never-ending, and unconditional. She is such a little beauty.
In the two weeks I was there I saw her changing everyday. She is very interested in looking at everything and everyone around her. When you sing or talk to her she looks at you very intently, and we managed to squeeze several real smiles out of her. So I got to see her very first smiles! She is getting stronger every day at holding her head up, and she tries to speak to us. She weighs nine pounds now. Today she is exactly three months old - she would only be about six to seven weeks old had she been born on due date. But I think she is rapidly catching up (if not already caught up). She is very, very bright and mostly content....she loves to swing in her swing and frequently drifts off to sleep. She loves to be held and danced with and walked around the house with (oh, my back!). She likes her legs and her arms tickled and her little cheeks pinched (not hard). She is nice and plump with little dimples in her elbows. Well, I could go on and on, but you guys probably know all about this feeling. I was so glad I got to see her, pictures do not do her justice.
The boys are doing well. Jamie is going to Cadet Camp on the 22nd I believe in Gagetown. He is quite excited about that. Eric got his hair trimmed and it looks a heck of a lot better. He has gorgeous hair, but he doesn't realize that with long curly hair like that, you have to look after it. Travis is a very nice boy.....he's a got a job, and with his first paycheck he bought some goodies for the other boys and a treat for Michelle and Me...of which, I might add, I did not get any!!!! They were Nanaimo Bars.
Michelle has an accepted offer on her house, pending inspection and appraisal of course, and if all goes well, it will be sold before they go on their vacation to Ontario for a wedding. I hope it does go well, so they can get that off their minds and concentrate on the new place.
Well, it was a great trip, although short. Those people are my life....along with lots of other people. Love begets love, and how can you not believe in a Higher Power when you look into the eyes of a new baby!
Okay...time to go for now...and remember these two words - Mikki and pictures.
Love all, Marsha

I'm Baaccckkkkk!

Hi all, the couch potato is back. This Blog is one of three which I may write today. Actually, this is the warning Blog to warn you about the other two ahead of time, so you can decide whether you will actually want to read them or not!
One of the Blogs will be all 'gushy and mushy' about my beautiful new granddaughter, and the other Blog will be a 'horrific rant'. I will name them appropriately so you will know which is which.
The 'horrific rant' may contain strong language, and reader discretion is advised.
Now, I'm sorry to say I don't have any pictures of Caitlyn...they are in Mikki's camera, so I suggest you all get after her to get them posted or to e-mail them to me so that I may post them. I tell you the truth though, getting on that computer is almost impossible. As a matter of fact the boys would still be on the computers (2) when Jim and I went to bed. And we slept in the Computer Room!!!!!! hahahahahahaha. But who can say 'get off the ding-dang computer' to their own Grandchildren. Not me.
Well, I must go now and prepare myself for my next two blogs. Have no idea in what order they will appear....I leave it to you to decide if any of you wish to read them.
Love ya all, Marsha

I got the Computer - Woohoo

Michelle snapped these without my previous knowledge or permission. With my silly hat on...yikes! However, the hat probably looks better than my hair would. Baby Caitlyn is doing fine, looking around more and more..She is so cute. I now also wear the new cologne 'eau d'puke'. Hehehehe. She is a spitty baby, but only after she's first eaten. After that she's fine.
The weather here has been beautiful and today it is raining...which is making it difficult to get my fix...sorry Susan..I know you are suffering worse than I am.
Now, speaking of TV shows, which we weren't, but anyway, Mikki and I watched a show on a woman getting a tummy tuck! You should have seen how much skin they took off her belly! It was amazing. But she looked great afterwards. I think I need more than a Tummy Tuck though. I need a full re-sculpture! Or I could go on a diet - Heaven Forbid! I guess I'm just too old to really care all that much anymore.
I'm just rambling on cause I have nothing important to say. I'm so excited to be back at the Computer. Eric and Jamie stayed overnight with friends, and Travis and his buddies are practicing their drum playing in the basement.
Well, I think the rain let up for a bit...time to dash out to the Deck!
Talk to you all later.....love, Marsha

I'm still alive!

Hi, all. Sorry I haven't had a chance to blog. But remember there are three boys living here, and they all have friends! And this computer has been on the go constantly! I'm just writing a short note to let you all know that I am still here...we have some pictures but they are still in the camera! And I don't know how to use it. I am so far behind on blog reading....I'll just have to catch up later.
I am having a good time though...enjoying the baby! Jim is coming over on Wednesday on the Ferry, and after a short stay I will be going home with him...on the Ferry. Hope everybody is well, and will try to read some blogs tomorrow. Right now, I am just too tired! Been a long day....Talk to you all later.

Sleepover

As you can see, I have lots of sleeping companions!!!!! Hehehehe....The fat white blob to the left is me (sigh). I think it must be the camera's fault. Anyhoo, had a good uneventful trip. Yesterday was a beautiful day and we had barbecue everything - steak, hamburgers, hot-dogs that come with cheese and onion included (really good).
The baby is beautiful, the house is beautiful, the weather is beautiful...and Jamie is beautiful too..hehehehehehe (he's sitting right here). I have been graneted 15 minutes of computer time, so I better get on with it.
We have tons of food here!!!!! Went to the store to get Hickory Sticks and Diet Pop, and ended with tons of food...scallops, shrimp, fish, meat, salad fixins, fruit salad, caesar salad, biscuits....my mouth is watering. Todd does the cooking....which is very cool!! Eric has grown some more!!! My he's big. Travis is really nice, as are some of his friends whom I met last night.
Eric mowed the lawn, and Travis picked up dog poop, and everybody is getting along just fine.
Well, my 15 minutes is about up....talk to you all later....

'Leaving on a Jet Plane....."

Don't know when I'll be back again....That's all the words I know to the song! Hehehehe. I'm getting nervous as I always do, when I have to travel. Will I get up in time, will I leave on time, will I arrive on time, will the car break down, will the plane be on time, will the plane crash on takeoff, will the plane crash on landing, will the plane just fall out of the sky from 38,000 ft. etc etc etc. Besides that, today I have to pack, shave my legs (again), go to bed early, try to get to sleep early....Yikes!
I'm worried about all the nicotine fits I may take....I absolutely will not smoke around the baby. So, I hope it's warm outside...hehehehehe.
Yesterday I did nothing....absolutely nothing. Didn't even blog. Slept in the afternoon. (BTW, I don't muti-task when I'm sleeping, unless you count having weird dreams). The weather has been dry, and cool...so that's nice...we had a thunderstorm for a short while, must have cleared the air.
Well, it appears my tea is ready, and I am parched. My medication makes my mouth very dry in the morning. Won't be blogging tomorrow, of course, but I will try to keep in touch from the Rock providing I can get the computer for a moment or two. Talk to you all later.

Corpse Bride

Finally got to see Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. I loved it. Not quite as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas, but good enough. These movies are made in 'stop-action' which means every frame is done one by one to make the movement. It's quite amazing. It was on the Movie Channels. I don't know if anyone else (beside Mikki & Jamie) is a fan of Tim Burton's Movies (Beetlejuice was one), but I have a strong feeling Chris would have loved them. Corpse Bride was a musical comedy and the words to the songs are quite funny.
Well, that's what I did on Canada Day, watched movies. The weather turned out quite beautiful, and now it's raining again. I guess it just cleared up for Canada Day. Today I think I am going to watch movies and knit some more dish cloths. Exciting, eh?
Well, that's it for now......toodle-oooo!
